Brady practices again, Patriots downplay injury

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Tom Brady is practicing with the New England Patriots after being limited in Thursday’s session by an injury to his non-throwing shoulder.

Two days after sitting out practice, Brady stretched with his teammates during the brief period open to reporters Friday.

Asked what Brady was able to do Thursday, coach Bill Belichick said Friday: “Play quarterback, the usual thing.” When asked if Wednesday was a planned day off for Brady, Belichick said he thought that had been covered.

The Patriots have said Wednesday’s absence was not injury-related.

When asked whether Brady would be able to play Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, Belichick said that, too, has been covered.

Comcast SportsNet has reported that Brady had X-rays to check for a separated left shoulder and was told he was “all set.”

That’s all the news for today.

New England Patriots Injury Report, Week 16: Aaron…

Read More: BenJarvus Green-Ellis (RB – NEP), Aaron Hernandez (TE – NEP), New England Patriots

Tight end Aaron Hernandez and running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis did not practice on Wednesday for the New England Patriots. Neither player was listed on last week’s injury report and both finished the victory in Denver without suffering any apparent injury.

Hernandez, in fact, had the best game of his season, catching nine passes for 129 yards and one touchdown to help New England to a 41-23 win against the Broncos. Hernandez even ran the ball once, carrying for 16 yards on an end-around.

Since the Patriots held only a walkthrough on Tuesday before Wednesday’s practice, it seems most likely that the two missing offensive starters hurt themselves against the Broncos despite finishing the game on the field. The team was also missing offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer on Wednesday. Vollmer seems likely to sit this weekend for his fourth straight missed game.

Safety Patrick Chung participated in practice for the second straight day. Fellow safety Vincent Fuller, who was officially signed on Wednesday, was present at his first practice with the Patriots, wearing number 26.

New England Patriots Training Camp: Patriots…

Read More: nfl training camp, nfl free agents, Kevin Faulk (RB – NEP), Matt Light (OT – NEP), Logan Mankins (G – NEP), Sammy Morris (RB – NEP), Albert Haynesworth (DT – NEP), Kyle Arrington (CB – NEP), BenJarvus Green-Ellis (RB – NEP), New England Patriots

Those looking to get their fill of the New England Patriots this week will have to brave the rains, it appears.

After a day off on Monday, the Pats will practice Tuesday and Wednesday from 1:30 – 4:30 on the fields behind Gillette Stadium in Foxboro as well as a 6:30-9 p.m. practice on the turf at The Razor.

The Wednesday evening practice will be for season ticket holders only.

Fans should be able to see more of Albert Haynesworth at these practices, presuming that the gargantuan defensive lineman continues to improve his conditioning, something that’s been a point of contention in his recent past.

Beginning on Thursday, newly signed free agents can join the team in practice, meaning that Logan Mankins, Matt Light, Kevin Faulk, Sammy Morris, Kyle Arrington and others will finally be able to practice alongside their teammates.

The Patriots are hopeful that by that point, BenJarvus Green-Ellis will have reported to camp as well and the team will have a full staff.

Gotta run!.
